Bernard Cornwell x Kirkstall Brewery: RIFLEMAN'S PALE ALE
"Major Sharpe's great talent is in disobeying orders." RIFLEMAN'S PALE ALE is an historic 4.7% 'Pale Ale prepared for India and Export', brewed to celebrate the release of SHARPE'S STORM by Bernard Cornwell.
This official collaboration with the author is inspired by the adventures of Richard Sharpe, a fictional soldier whose appearance at real-life battles and historic events is told in the books by Cornwell and their TV adaptions starring Sean Bean.
Like Wellington's soldiers, Pale Ales began to be exported around the world in this era. Like the toughest Rifleman, this Export Pale is built to last, using heritage English malt and UK-grown hops.
In homage to the characters of the books, we've replicated the colours of their distinctive uniforms, and acknowledged their pride in being 'First in the Field'.

Sharpe's Storm is published on 21 October, and RIFLEMAN'S PALE ALE is now available in 440ml cans and 9g cask for a limited time.
